Brainard Lake never gets old. What does get old is litter. Someone littered an entire, bus sized, gutted and spray painted, RV up Lefthand Canyon. Uhg.

Rando accessories. For an upcoming SR600, the simple box bag on the right acts as a “false floor” in my large randonneuring bag. The ride will take 3 days, and without drop bag support, everything goes on the bike. This keeps clothes and other off-the-bike necessities separate from the disgusting horror of food scraps sweaty layers that is a rando bag during any sufficiently long ride. The final photo is of my compact reflective kit bundled down to its 2” x 2” x 1” package

Random bike updates: Running wiring for a new tail light on the tourer gave me a chance to press eyelets into the fenders. I found this shiny first generation Rival derailleur at the co-op. I made a new frame bag for dirt overnights.

I smile everytime I use this little toggle press to set a rivet or grommet. It feels like a giant piece of industrial machinery, but it’s only 9” tall. Small but mighty, it exerts 600kgf at the bottom of the lever travel. And the color is rather fetching too.
