If you’re in the Phoenix area and want to try out the whole supple 650b thing, here’s your chance. Currently wearing 650x42b Compass tires with room for fenders. $250, details below. The bike received the usual “I’m going to keep this!” overhaul. Frame and fork were checked for alignment, headset serviced, cables, housings, brake pads replaced, BB swapped to a new Shimano cartridge unit. I also put on a new KMC chain a couple weeks ago. The details: - 1982 Trek 412 25.5” (62cm ST, 60cm TT). There’s a bit of cable and heal rub, and scratches here and there. But as you can see from the pictures, it’s in nice shape. - Compass Baby Shoe Pass Extralight 650x42b tires. Center ribs are all there. These don’t have many miles but the sun has faded them, especially the logos. - Pacenti PL23s 32h rims. Wear indicator fully visible. These were built to Pacenti’s specced 90kgf. - Shimano XT m732 rear, m737 front hubs, Wheelsmith double butted spokes. - Dia Compe 750 center pull brakes with KoolStop pads. There’s ~27mm between the brake carrier and the tires, ample space for fenders. - Factory SR crank, bars, stem and and Avocet Condor saddle. The saddle has a 1cm tear, I figure you’d replace it anyway. - Suntour downtube shifters and front derailleur. - Shimano 7 speed cassette - Shimano XT M732 rear derailleur because I ran this with a triple for awhile. I have a worn Sugino XD2 triple I can toss in for $15, but the middle ring is a replacement and it never shifted well. - White Zefal HPX3 pump, missing one of the little ears, but works fine. - No pedals. If you need pedals I can pick some up for ~$8 the next time I’m at the co-op - American Classic seat post has marks on it, is hilariously light. - Gran Compe aero levers with scratching from a tip over. - Newer cork bar tape - Shimano Cartridge BB Phoenix area pickup strongly preferred. If you’re in Tucson or Flagstaff we can meet somewhere. Not shipping this one.
